It is with a sad and heavy heart that I report former Navarro County Sheriff's Office Deputy and current Constable Raychaun Ballard has passed away yesterday after a brief illness.

We want to ask that you please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this time of grief, especially during these trying times and difficult circumstances in the days and weeks to come.

Raychaun was a huge part of our family here at the NCSO. He had over 24 years of dedicated service in our agency and just recently assumed his role as Navarro County Constable elect for Precinct 2.

To say we are in shock over our friend, Deputy Ballards death, would be an understatement. We are heartbroken and will feel this loss for quite some time.

Our hearts and many prayers go out to the family of our fallen comrade. This is another tragic blow to law enforcement, to our NCSO family and it hits close to home here in Navarro County and to the many who knew, worked with and loved Ray.
